Protein does a Body Good!

I’ve been on the smoothie bandwagon for quite some time.  Mainly using fruits and vegetables as my ingredients of choice.  However, as I’ve started to boost my workout routine I figured I needed something with a little more kick.  So, I decided to optimize my morning drink with PROTEIN!  For some reason I thought only body builders and people looking to really bulk up drink protein shakes.  But as I learned, it’s really beneficial for everyone, seeing as thought the majority of folks don’t get all the protein their bodies need in their meals.

So, your girl gave it the good old college try!  I got this recipe off of pinterest, but I am sure you can modify it to your own liking.  Also, I kept it very basic since this was my first time.

I was actually blown away by how good it tasted!  It helps that I have a love affair with peanut butter AND the extra jazz the Vanilla flavored protein powder gives it.  I would recommend going heavy on the fruit.  I ran out of bananas on the my second batch, and noticed the after taste of the protein was more poignant.  Nothing too bad, it just had a bit of a gritty and bitter after taste.  Overall, this is my new day starter–I felt full and had a tad more energy, as I try to minimize my coffee intake and substitute it with something healthier.
